Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering is a leading provider of design and construction services for infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced Design Engineering Manager to join our team in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design engineering team in the pursuit and management of design-build projects. This will include developing project budgets, schedules, and staffing plans, as well as managing deliverables, quality, and compliance for assigned projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design engineering, with experience in design delivery of infrastructure projects from project inception to completion. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design engineering team in the pursuit and management of design-build projects.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and staffing plans.
  • Manage deliverables, quality, and compliance for assigned projects.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs are aligned with our processes and meet our customers' needs.
  • Interface and maintain relationships with external design partners and the construction team's project leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of design engineering or design management experience, with roles of increasing responsibility.
  • P. Eng or U.S. Professional Engineering registration is required, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Design-build experience is an asset but not required.
  • Technical background as a design engineer in at least one of the typical infrastructure disciplines.
  • Experience in design delivery of infrastructure projects from project inception to completion, including support during construction.
  • Project management, including commercial management and project controls, is an asset but not required.
  • Infrastructure Facilities experience is an asset (not offices, commercial or large buildings).
  • Ability to travel to US and Canada as business dictates.

Base Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
