We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Consultant to join our team at Canadian Tire Financial Services. As a key member of our Non-Merchandise Procurement team, you will play a critical role in supporting procurements and related productivity improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct procurement of goods and services for various categories, ensuring best value for the corporation's funds.
- Award and administer blanket, contract, and standard purchase orders using a P2P tool such as Coupa.
- Ensure procurement requests comply with established procurement processes to maintain auditability of the procurement function.
- Develop relationships and maintain open communication with contract and non-contract goods and services vendors, providing feedback on vendor performance.
- Lead opportunity identification to quote replenishment or non-replenishment goods and services for internal requestors and stakeholders, maintaining open communication to identify opportunities for cost-savings.
- Compile reports on vendor or item/service purchasing history to identify opportunities to implement cost savings and productivity initiatives, including identifying new vendors and negotiating pricing on high-value items/services.
- Train other staff on procurement duties and software, including Coupa, Ariba, supplier setup, related invoicing tasks, contract databases, and spend cube.
- Manage internal order process to meet purchase requests, including billing for all requestors.
- Attend inter-departmental meetings to provide subject matter expertise on accepted procurement processes.
- Support development and coordination of RFQ, RFP, and RFI initiatives.
- Identify and implement initiatives to increase procurement and category efficiency, improve inventory valuation, and daily functions of procurement processes.
- Support invoice intake, coding, and matching processes during periods of peak volume or staff absence.
- University degree in business or related area, College/Technical Institute diploma, or salient certifications (such as PMAC, Certified Purchasing Professional, etc.).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, contract drafting, competitive price analysis, and supplier performance management.
- Experience in one or more specific spend categories, such as Business Services, Professional Services, Printing, Warehousing, and Store Supplies, would be an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and leading procurement technologies (e.g., Ariba or Coupa), is an asset.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to organize, control, and coordinate a variety of activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret and effectively communicate complex analytics.
- Self-motivated to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creative problem-solving and a certain degree of latitude are expected.
- Ability to execute and attain measurable results.
