Job Summary:

Purolator Inc is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Courier Utility to join our team. As a Courier Utility, you will be responsible for picking up and delivering customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules. You will also resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules
  • Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day
  • Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR)

Requirements:

  • Valid non-probationary Driver's License
  • Clean Driving Abstract (please upload a current driver's abstract with your resume)
  • Must successfully pass written & road test(s)
  • Must successfully pass Defensive Driving course
  • Must successfully pass Courier Methods training course
  • Ability to read maps; Good sense of geographical direction
  • Courier methods training and/or work related experience
  • Proper scan and load techniques
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Successfully complete a criminal record check and employment verification to qualify
  • Obtain a clear Police Clearance Certificate when required

Working Conditions:

This is a temporary, seasonal position that is likely to end at the end of December/beginning of January. The Utility Courier will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with customers and Dispatch. The Courier will be required to work in various weather conditions and may be exposed to physical demands of the job.
