Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

At Metro Toronto Convention Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for steering our financial strategy and ensuring the organization's fiscal health and alignment with broader provincial goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize financial performance and enhance strategic decision-making.
  • Manage financial operations, including financial reporting, risk management, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the executive management team and Board of Directors.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial statements and reports.
  • Manage the coordination and activities of independent auditors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant provincial policies, regulations, and funding opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in a similar role, ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of current GAAP principles and PSAS.
  • Good knowledge of the hospitality, tourism, convention, and trade/consumer industries.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Analytical skills with a knack for identifying opportunities within government policies and programs.
