The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Facility Service Worker in Saskatoon.

About the Role:

This is a dynamic and challenging opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where infrastructure, procurement, real property, facility management, logistics, and information technology meet to enable the Government of Saskatchewan's Growth Plan and programs and services for citizens and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular preventative maintenance and as required building maintenance on buildings and grounds;
  • Operate and maintain grounds power equipment;
  • Assist co-workers with various maintenance repairs;
  • Ensure visual life safety equipment is in good operating readiness;
  • Perform assigned client requests;
  • Report to facility operator/co-workers any maintenance issues and client concerns;
  • Maintain maintenance records in maintenance management software.

Requirements:

  • Working level knowledge of building maintenance and operations;
  • Good physical condition to perform manual activities (ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb ladders);
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Valid Fireman Boiler Operator Certificate, or ability to obtain within the probationary period (twelve (12) months).

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to operate heavy-duty power cleaning equipment and grounds equipment (manual and powered). The successful candidate will be required to climb ladders and lift heavy objects.
