Facilities Maintenance Specialist

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining assigned client facilities located in Saskatoon and the surrounding area. This role will involve utilizing various strategies to ensure the continued operation of the facilities, including maintaining safe conditions inside and outside of the facilities, performing minor plumbing and electrical repairs, and conducting safety oversight on subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute responsive and planned maintenance in accordance with the building automation system or facility management system.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other subcontractors, supervising as needed.
- Perform basic tours and log readings.
- Respond to tenant complaints.
- Perform light duties such as cleaning, painting, garbage removal, snow removal, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical duties, assisting subcontractors as necessary.
- Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships to enhance competitiveness in the industry and promote good customer relationships.
- Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs.
- Represent the company on matters such as business services.
- Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
- Assist in the purchase of building materials.
- Review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies.

Education Requirements:
- Current Fireman Boiler Operator Certificate (TSASK or equivalent)
- Class 5 Power Engineering Certification would be an asset
- Construction trade certification in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical is beneficial
Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Building Operator; experience in operating a commercial facility is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with building automation systems and HVAC systems.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:
- This is a full-time position with some on-call and emergency out-of-office hours duties.
- Must be able to pass and complete the requirements of a Security Clearance.
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment.
- Communicates effectively, both written and verbal, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use computers and related technology efficiently.
- Clean Class 5 AB Driver's License.
