Certified Class 4 Power Engineer & Mechanic Contract to Full Time Opportunity

Your role: This position is accountable for the efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of high-speed food manufacturing machinery and equipment in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure compliance with Alberta safety codes, procedures, policies, and regulations.
  2. Monitor alarms, gauges, and other instruments associated with plant operations and adhere to Alberta regulations.
  3. Optimize equipment and processes for maximum efficiency.
  4. Maintain a daily log of operation, maintenance, and safety activities on the utilities systems.
  5. Participate in and support safety activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  2. Perform mechanic tasks, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines, baggers, conveyors, etc.
  3. Troubleshoot and take corrective action to prevent equipment or system failures.
  4. Perform daily maintenance and repairs as requested by unscheduled work orders and/or department managers and supervisors.
  5. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  6. Be comfortable with electrical & PLC Controls.
  7. Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
  1. Must possess a Class 4 Alberta power engineer certification, with mechanical and analytical skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
  2. Have 2 years' experience managing and troubleshooting boilers.
  3. Additional certification as Millwright is an asset.
  4. Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Be proactive and help the department achieve its goals.
  6. Be organized and detail-oriented.
  7. Be able to work a rotating shift as well as some extended hours and weekends.
