Class 4 Power Engineer Position

Your role: This position is accountable for the efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of high-speed food manufacturing machinery and equipment in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure compliance with Alberta safety codes, procedures, policies, and regulations.
- Monitor alarms, gauges, and other instruments associated with plant operations and adhere to Alberta regulations.
- Optimize equipment and processes for maximum efficiency.
- Maintain a daily log of operation, maintenance, and safety activities on the utilities systems.
- Participate in and support safety activities.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform mechanic tasks, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines, baggers, conveyors, etc.
- Troubleshoot and take corrective action to prevent equipment or system failures.
- Perform daily maintenance and repairs as requested by unscheduled work orders and/or department managers and supervisors.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Be comfortable with electrical & PLC Controls.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Must possess a Class 4 Alberta power engineer certification, with mechanical and analytical skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
- Have 2 years' experience managing and troubleshooting boilers.
- Additional certification as Millwright is an asset.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Be proactive and help the department achieve its goals.
- Be organized and detail-oriented.
- Be able to work a rotating shift as well as some extended hours and weekends.
