Overview

The Process Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing, coordinating, and evaluating production line operations to ensure adherence to set standards concerning quality, cost-efficiency, productivity, safety, sanitation, and employee skill levels. This position is essential for providing insights and updates on product conditions, addressing any issues related to equipment, specifications, packaging materials, and production schedules to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage overall shift production through effective collaboration with subordinate supervisors, foremen, and team leads.
  • Coordinate with the Agricultural scheduler and shift supervisors to optimize raw material usage.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to guarantee that the final products meet established quality benchmarks and customer requirements.
  • Work alongside the Sanitation Supervisor to ensure compliance with sanitation standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Partner with the Maintenance team to enhance equipment performance and foster teamwork.
  • Promote and maintain safe working practices among employees, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and active participation in health and safety initiatives.
  • Execute supervisory duties in alignment with organizational policies and legal regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation, execution, review, and follow-up of audits.
  • Propose strategies for enhancing employee productivity.
  • Oversee staffing and development initiatives for personnel on respective shifts.
  • Collaborate closely with other Shift Supervisors and the Production Manager to meet production targets and key performance indicators efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with all HACCP guidelines and documentation throughout the food production process.
  • Manage employee performance systems, including appraisals, coaching, and necessary disciplinary actions.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Sigma principles and Management Development Initiatives (MDI).
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned, including conducting trials on new or existing products and investigating incidents.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field (such as Agriculture, Engineering, Business, or Food Science) is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and educational qualifications may be considered.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and sound judgment for effective planning and execution.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to walk, talk, and hear; occasionally required to use hands for handling objects and controls, climb, balance, and perform other physical activities.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasional exposure to high places, extreme temperatures, and loud noise levels.
