Social Work Educator, Indigenous Health Program Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Work Educator to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). As a Social Work Educator, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing educational strategies, programs, and materials related to Social Work theory, interventions, skills, and competencies.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement educational strategies, programs, and materials for Social Work staff and students, ensuring they reflect up-to-date, evidence-based, and best practices.
- Provide training and education to Social Work staff and students on profession-specific and inter-professional clinical practice guidelines, using change management techniques to ensure efficient and effective implementation.
- Deliver new staff orientation for social workers and social work students, ensuring they are familiar with Social Work practice standards, clinical guidelines, legislation, and professional practice resources.
- Develop and review instructional materials, plan and schedule educational activities, and monitor the effectiveness of training methods through staff feedback.
- Act as a clinical role model and resource for staff, consulting with them on complex professional practice issues and providing professional advice and support to enhance clinical problem-solving.
- Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work.
- Four (4) years' recent, related broad Social Work experience in a variety of practice areas and experience in mentoring, teaching, knowledge translation, creating educational materials, implementing education strategies, or providing leadership.
- Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of organization policies, legislation, procedures, and standards of care, as well as social work theory and practice within a client and family-centered model of care.
- Broad knowledge of the established provincial standards of practice and guidelines for Registered Social Workers, including Trauma-Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.
- Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility, as well as Psychological Health and Safety within the workplace.
- Broad knowledge of education theory, including knowledge of adult education, learning principles, and education strategies.
- Broad knowledge of virtual technology-based learning and spreadsheet and database skills.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
