Key Responsibilities
- Manage all facets of comprehensive accounting operations, including financial transactions and reporting.
- Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and relationship managers to ensure exceptional Indigenous EASE engagements.
- Ensure the precision of financial transactions and reporting, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Coordinate the development of budgets and financial forecasts, including variance analysis.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare and disseminate timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements and reports related to Indigenous EASE.
- Assist in initiating new EASE engagements by providing necessary information for client onboarding and deliverable preparation.
- Maintain and update the chart of accounts and prepare entries for posting.
- Draft correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations that outline engagement findings and highlights.
- Cultivate and sustain effective working relationships with clients while mentoring junior team members.
- Exhibit flexibility to travel to client locations as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- CPA designation (CAFM designation is a plus).
- Proven experience in full-cycle accounting processes.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage 300, Sage Intacct, Adagio, Xyntax, QBO, or Xero is advantageous.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.
