About the Role
As a key member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Certified Orthotist reports to the Manager of Assistive Technology and provides a comprehensive range of clinical interventions for both pediatric and adult populations. This role demands a high level of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, and professional growth. The Certified Orthotist takes on clinical leadership, particularly in complex cases, and possesses the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to deliver competent, evidence-informed care. The dynamic nature of this position requires the Certified Orthotist to work both independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to address challenging clinical issues. Additionally, the Certified Orthotist plays a vital role in mentoring students and colleagues by acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing guidance. Attendance at clinics, rounds, conferences, and meetings is required, along with the supervision and evaluation of students and/or technicians.
Services may be required across the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio within a seven-day service framework.
Qualifications

- Certification as an Orthotist from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada is mandatory.
- 1-3 years of professional experience, preferably in a hospital environment.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and work autonomously.
- Exceptional communication, observation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated capacity to critically analyze assessment data and identify treatment needs with a patient-centered focus.
- Understanding of privacy legislation and a commitment to safeguarding personal health information.
- Competency in additional languages is an asset, with French being preferred.

Work Schedule
- Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly wage: $44.23
Successful candidates may qualify for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
Eligible candidates may also receive a signing bonus and up to $5,000 in relocation assistance under a defined Return of Service contract.
