The Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club is recognized as one of the premier private racquets clubs in the region, providing exceptional programming in tennis, badminton, squash, fitness, and aquatics for a diverse membership.

Position Overview:

The Club is currently in search of a Part-time Racquet Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality racquet stringing services for our members.

Work Schedule:

This role requires availability on Sundays from 9am to 5pm and Wednesdays from 4pm to 7pm. Additional shifts may be available to assist with inventory management and other operational tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stringing a significant volume of racquets for tennis, badminton, and squash.
  • Providing expert advice to members regarding sports equipment, primarily focusing on tennis-related products.
  • Managing inquiries through phone and email communications.
  • Assisting members with court bookings and ensuring adherence to club policies.
  • Educating members about booking procedures and regulations.
  • Monitoring court activities and enforcing club standards as necessary.
  • Maintaining the organization of the shop, including restocking and cleanliness.
  • Replenishing supplies of sports equipment as required.
  • Assisting with monthly inventory tasks as directed.
  • Engaging in various administrative duties related to the operation of the Sport Shop.
  • Supporting events and tournaments as needed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in racquet stringing, with a focus on tennis.
  • A solid background in tennis, with knowledge of various equipment and product lines; familiarity with squash and badminton is advantageous.
  • Experience in a retail environment, demonstrating strong customer service skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office and point of sale systems.
  • A professional, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude.

Compensation:

The pay rate for this position ranges from $20 to $22 per hour. Please note that staff members are not permitted to utilize club facilities, and this part-time role does not include benefits.
