Diesel Locomotive Repairman/Woman Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Locomotive Repairman/Woman to join our team at BMS Mechanical Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our diesel locomotives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Order parts and maintain inventory
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Perform other routine maintenance
Requirements:
  • Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
  • Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T)
  • Experience with diesel engine repair and maintenance
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor
