Position Overview

SPTel Pte Ltd is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the role of Software Development Engineer. This position requires a strong background in software engineering, particularly in Java/J2EE development, to contribute to our innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Review: Analyze design documentation and provide constructive feedback on methodologies and estimations.
  • Agile Participation: Engage actively in the Agile Scrum development cycle, ensuring adherence to established coding standards and processes.
  • API Design: Translate business requirements into effective API designs and prepare comprehensive interface specifications.
  • Code Development: Implement code based on both high-level and low-level designs, perform unit testing, and conduct peer code reviews.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all software developed meets or exceeds defined standards and fulfills end-user expectations.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned by management as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Java/J2EE development.
  • Extensive knowledge of API development and web services, including WSDL Soap and Restful services.
  • Proficient in Java frameworks such as Spring MVC and Spring Security.
  • Hands-on experience with application servers including Weblogic, Tomcat, and JBoss.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, particularly Oracle (SQL – PL/SQL) and MariaDB.
  • Technical proficiency in software design, development, coding, testing, and debugging.
  • Experience with API gateways (e.g., APIGee, Mulesoft) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with load balancing and proxying technologies (HAProxy, Nginx).
  • Knowledge of UI development technologies (JSP, HTML, CSS, Ajax, XML) is advantageous.
  • Experience in the telecommunications sector and understanding of TMForum SID is beneficial.
  • A degree in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred, with 4-7 years of relevant experience.
