Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Support Specialist to join our team at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. As an integral member of our school community, you will play a vital role in supporting students with exceptional needs and promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities
- Participate in pool programs, academic support, and implement special programs to enhance student learning
- Support students with learning disabilities, speech/language issues, and other exceptional needs
- Assist with outside yard duties, lifting, toileting, and/or pool duties as required
- Community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience working with school-aged special needs children
- Valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C
- Completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, TCI, and/or Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training
- DSW/CYW certification
- Autism experience an asset
- Assistive Technology skills
- Behaviour Modification and Behaviour Management Systems knowledge
- Computer skills
