Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and self-directed Preventive Maintenance Technologist to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes, with a focus on preventative maintenance, design, fabrication, qualification, and repair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Ensure quality, safety, and regulatory policies are met, and provide backup for review of preventative maintenance records.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in existing equipment to increase reliability and lower costs.
  • Develop and assist in developing preventive maintenance standards and methods for equipment.
  • Provide leadership in equipment breakdowns and new installations, and assist Quality Assurance in investigating irregularities.
  • Assist in developing preventative maintenance tasks and schedules, and perform documentation reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Interface with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams, and assist in ordering equipment spare parts and maintaining inventory.
  • Provide backup and assistance to the Maintenance Department, and support calibration activities as required.

Requirements

  • 2 years of related experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Technical degree or diploma in a related field.
  • Willingness to develop or obtain 5th Class Power Engineer certification.

Working Conditions

  • On-site position at our Burnaby, British Columbia facility.
  • Weekday shifts and potentially some weekend shifts scheduled as needed.
  • Kneeling, bending, standing, and/or walking for extended periods.
  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special garments and safety equipment.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Handling and usage of chemicals.
  • Shift times vary morning to midnight.
