Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Health PEI. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide occupational therapy treatment to clients in a variety of community settings, promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct functional assessments to determine the need for occupational therapy
  • Develop, plan, and implement appropriate occupational therapy for clients
  • Work independently to respond to client inquiries, provide follow-up care, and make referrals to other healthcare providers and community agencies
  • Act as a resource person to other team members, healthcare providers, and the community
  • Perform administrative functions, such as updating client information files and planning work activities
  • Supervise, guide, and appraise the performance of rehabilitation assistants
  • Determine work assignments, work rotations, and vacation schedules
  • Assist in the development of provincial policies and procedures
  • Record and report statistical and outcome measures data
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a Master's Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Eligibility for licensing with the Prince Edward Island College of Occupational Therapists
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Additional relevant education and experience is an asset

Eligible candidates will be entitled to Health PEI Allied Health Services Incentives of up to $10k upon successful hiring.
