Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Health PEI. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing occupational therapy treatment to clients in our community hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct functional assessments to determine the need for occupational therapy
  • Develop, plan, and implement appropriate occupational therapy for clients
  • Work independently to respond to client inquiries, provide follow-up care, and make referrals to other healthcare providers and community agencies
  • Act as a resource person to other team members, healthcare providers, and the community
  • Perform administrative functions, such as updating client information files and planning and organizing work activities
  • Supervise, guide, and appraise the performance of rehabilitation assistants
  • Determine work assignments, work rotations, and vacation schedules
  • Assist in the development of provincial policies and procedures
  • Record and report statistical and outcome measures data
Requirements
  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Eligible for licensing with the Prince Edward Island College of Occupational Therapists
  • Considerable experience working as a practicing Occupational Therapist
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with clients, families, and community organizations
  • Eligible for Canadian (CAOT) membership
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Good previous work and attendance record
