Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Funeral Director and Embalmer to join our team at the Funeral Service Association of Canada. As a Funeral Director and Embalmer, you will be responsible for arranging, coordinating, and directing funeral ceremonies, meeting and surpassing the needs and expectations of the families we serve, and maintaining active involvement within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Funeral Ceremony Coordination: Arrange and direct funeral ceremonies, ensuring that all details are meticulously planned and executed.
  • Family Support: Meet and exceed the needs and expectations of the families we serve, providing exceptional customer service and support throughout the funeral planning process.
  • Community Involvement: Maintain active involvement within the community, building and establishing effective relationships and rapport with local organizations and individuals.
  • Technology Integration: Support the Funeral Service Department's vision of technology integration, understanding the role technology plays in the funeral home's success.
Requirements
  • Licenses and Certifications: Possess a Funeral Director and Embalmer license and have experience as a licensed funeral director or apprenticeship.
  • Skills and Abilities: Possess the ability to perform transfers and have the skillset to complete embalmings independently, self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team, excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Education and Training: Continually better oneself via literature, professional educational seminars, etc.
  • Physical Requirements: A valid driver's license is a mandatory requirement for this position.
