Risk Assessment Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Assessment Specialist to join our team at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical analysis and advice to support the development of risk and safety assessments for the protection of the environment and people from radiological and non-radiological hazards.
- Contribute to the development of the radiation protection program and design, including shielding analysis and dose calculations.
- Assist with the identification, definition, and evaluation of contracts related to biophysical science research and safety assessment support.
- Develop and review technical reports, papers, and presentations.
- Participate in NWMO public engagement activities and contribute to the development of best practices for safety and risk assessment.
- Ensure employee health and safety activities meet or exceed NWMO policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- A 4-year university degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
- Over 2 years and up to 4 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: nuclear engineering, chemical engineering, biology, physics, or environmental science.
