Position Title: Technical Expert, Engineering - Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA)
Location: Biggin Hill Service Center
Role Summary:
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of Highly Integrated Control Systems and Distributed Integrated Modular Architectures.
- Engage in the capture of OEM requirements for IMA System Architecture, IMA Platform, and Hosted Functions.
- Establish roles and responsibilities for IMA System Integrator, IMA Application provider, and IMA Platform provider.
- Apply DO297 standards to organize IMA development, safety, and certification strategies.
- Utilize an integrated toolchain for the construction and testing of IMA Applications.
- Implement methodologies to ensure the architecture meets safety, security, and certification criteria.
- Set standards for validation, verification, and functional testing processes.
- Collaborate with Project Leads and stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and design aspects.
- Offer technical guidance and recommendations during design reviews.
- Advise on the implications of new regulations impacting architecture.
- Coordinate with other project stakeholders to exchange knowledge and technology.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and reports, recommending subsequent actions.
- Adhere to defined schedules and budgetary objectives.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer, software, electrical, or aerospace engineering.
- Proven experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) architectures.
- Background in aircraft systems development and integration.
- Familiarity with DO297 guidelines.
- Understanding of aerospace communication protocols.
- Experience in requirements development, validation, and traceability.
- Proficient in networking communication protocols and software development.
- Expertise in Embedded Real-Time Operating Systems and software development.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and engineering judgment.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
