Position Summary:
We are seeking a Marine Structures Engineer to contribute to our Vancouver office's Marine Structures Group. This role involves the design and analysis of waterfront structures and marine infrastructure projects, including but not limited to marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads, breakwaters, and shoreline protection systems. The ideal candidate will possess 6-10 years of experience guiding projects from initial conceptual layouts through to detailed design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural analysis, design, and detailing for various materials including concrete, steel, and timber.
- Perform inspections and rehabilitation of waterfront structures.
- Engage in urban waterfront development projects.
- Oversee marine structural projects and lead project teams.
- Provide construction support and guidance.
- Demonstrate knowledge of shoreline protection materials and breakwater design.
- Manage project budgets, contracting strategies, and scheduling while preparing necessary documentation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required; a Master's in Structural Engineering is preferred.
- 6-10 years of experience in marine structural engineering design and project management within a consulting environment or marine-related sector is essential.
- Experience with DOD marine structural engineering projects is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach are necessary.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- All new hires must successfully complete a pre-employment background check in compliance with NIST.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is C$95,400 to C$116,600 per annum, contingent upon experience, educational background, professional registration, and qualifications as outlined in the job description.
Work Environment:
The majority of the work will be conducted in an office setting, with occasional site visits that may require traversing unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
