Position Overview

As a **Patient Care Assistant** at **POINTS WEST LIVING STETLER INC.**, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Your compassionate support will be essential in providing comfort and care to individuals in a variety of settings.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college or non-university program lasting 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 months of relevant experience.
Work Environment
  • Located in a rural area.
  • Working primarily in a nursing home or similar facility.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents during outdoor recreational activities.
  • Support various aspects of patient care and comfort.
  • Provide personal care services as needed.
  • Manage bedpans and assist with hygiene needs.
  • Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Deliver meal trays and assist residents with feeding.
  • Help with the mobility of residents by lifting, turning, and positioning them.
  • Facilitate communication between departments by delivering messages and specimens.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient rooms.
  • Oversee and encourage residents' exercise routines.
  • Administer specific medical procedures as directed.
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming of residents.
  • Respond to call signals to address residents' needs.
  • Collect necessary specimens for medical assessments.
Certifications Required
  • Nursing Aide Certificate.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate.
Work Conditions
  • Fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Involves repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
