Your Opportunity:
At Alberta Health Services, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a Northern Allowance of up to $6,300 annually, which is non-pensionable and paid hourly for all hours worked at the basic pay rate. Additionally, employees who have been with us for over one year and work in locations above the 57th parallel may qualify for an annual reimbursement of personal travel expenses, with a maximum of $1,235. This reimbursement covers one round trip per calendar year to any destination within Alberta, starting from a community located above the 57th parallel.
Position Overview:
As an Environmental Services Technician II, you will engage in various responsibilities related to specialized cleaning within healthcare facilities, utilizing industrial-grade cleaning supplies and powered equipment. Your key duties will encompass:
- Operating industrial cleaning machinery for floor maintenance.
- Conducting thorough cleaning of ceilings and windows.
- Managing the disposal of hazardous waste.
Moreover, you may be tasked with providing training and orientation to new Environmental Services staff.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Completion of Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in computer operations, including Microsoft Office.
- The ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks throughout your shift.
- Physical capability to lift, push, and pull weights of up to 30 lbs.
