Case Worker Position

Reporting to the Program Manager and Case Manager, the Case Worker plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive and culturally sensitive support services to individuals within our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with participants to develop personalized goal plans that are regularly reviewed and adjusted based on Housing First principles.
  • Provide tailored support that respects individual beliefs and aspirations, integrating traditional Métis teachings and values with access to contemporary physical, emotional, and psychological services.
  • Offer individualized case management in various housing-related areas, guiding participants towards stability and self-sufficiency.
  • Facilitate both individual and group activities, such as personal counseling sessions and Sharing Circles, fostering a sense of community and support.
  • Organize and participate in social events within the community, promoting engagement and connection among participants.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all participant interactions, including home visits, appointments, agency referrals, and progress towards achieving goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in front-line case management, demonstrating a commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of community-based resources and the ability to effectively navigate these systems on behalf of participants.
  • Strong understanding of issues related to addictions, attachment, mental health, trauma, and their impact on families.
  • Familiarity with Child and Family Services (CFS), Employment & Income Assistance (EIA), and other relevant social service programs.
  • Exceptional assessment skills and experience conducting investigations, gathering and analyzing information to implement appropriate actions.
  • Proven ability to develop and support a collaborative team-based approach to service delivery.
  • Experience working within a non-profit organization and Indigenous community is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of Métis culture, MMF programs, and services is a significant asset.
  • Valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle for travel as required.
