About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Taxation Expert to join our team at Banque Nationale du Canada. As a Senior Advisor Taxation, you will play a key role in analyzing the tax situation of investment funds and making recommendations to ensure compliance with tax and securities rules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze tax situations of investment funds and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with tax and securities rules.
  • Coach a team of professionals responsible for delivering various activities related to taxation and investment funds.
  • Guide the team in the calculation of distributions and production of tax returns for investment funds.
  • Manage strategic relationships with internal and external partners to establish collaborative relationships and influence decisions.
  • Develop and implement effective controls and working tools to ensure high-quality standards and integrity of financial data.
  • Monitor industry developments and ensure application of tax and securities rules in team deliverables.
  • Calculate distributions of income and capital gains, and produce tax returns for investment funds.
  • Participate in and coordinate projects, and ensure their monitoring.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the improvement of activities and processes.
About the Team

The Taxation team consists of 10 professionals who work together to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions for clients and partners. We are a dynamic team that values collaboration, agility, and empowerment.

Requirements
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with 7-10 years of relevant experience in the sector.
  • Experience in filing tax returns for trusts and corporations.
  • Knowledge of investment funds and trusts is mandatory.
  • Increased knowledge of investment fund distributions.
  • Knowledge of tax, accounting, and securities standards applying to investment funds.
  • Knowledge of the system: FMC - PACER (SS&C).
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (complex formulas and pivot tables).
  • Ability to handle pressure and good management of priorities.
