Your RoleAs a Lead Engineer in AI Solutions, you will spearhead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models and algorithms, playing a pivotal role in revolutionizing the shopping experience for millions of Canadians. Your leadership will drive innovation, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as GenAI and LLMs into our systems.
Key Responsibilities- Understand Machine Learning Components: Develop a comprehensive understanding of the machine learning components we utilize, including AI, GenAI, and LLMs, to address current and future challenges.
- Technical Leadership: Lead the architectural design for machine learning components and cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration with advanced AI technologies.
- Vision and Strategy: Define the long-term vision for your team, aligning with the company's strategic goals, particularly in AI and machine learning initiatives.
- Project Management: Translate project objectives into organized technical tasks, collaborating with other engineering managers to ensure alignment.
- Team Development: Mentor and guide your team to enhance our AI and ML components, leveraging industry trends and tools.
- Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical guidance in resolving critical production issues related to machine learning and AI.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business and product stakeholders to successfully deliver new AI features and capabilities.
- Documentation: Create design documents and documentation to facilitate maintenance and code reuse for AI systems.
- Performance Management: Conduct one-on-one meetings and performance reviews with team members.
- 5-7 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on AI/ML.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring engineering and data science teams.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects from planning to execution.
- Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts, including advanced technologies like GenAI and LLMs.
- Expertise in data handling and pipeline development, with proficiency in SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and evaluate model performance using various metrics.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
