Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical equipment to identify damage, defects, or wear;
  • Execute service repairs and preventative maintenance tasks;
  • Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical components;
  • Utilize transportation equipment to demonstrate functionality or issues;
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports;
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in working with and around heavy machinery;
  • Skilled in the safe operation of hand and power tools;
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and supervisors;
  • Able to thrive in a team-oriented environment with a positive demeanor;
  • Strong problem-solving abilities;
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle inspector license;
  • Valid driver's license with air endorsement and a clean driving record;
  • Experience mentoring apprentices in skill development;
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced setting;
  • Prior experience as a Service Technician or similar role with heavy equipment is advantageous;
  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal) or equivalent experience is preferred;
  • CVIP License is a plus;
  • Familiarity with computer-based equipment tracking systems.

Compensation:

Union wages and benefits are offered, with a pay range of $38-$45/hr, to be discussed during the interview process.
