Position Overview

CAA Club Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Travel Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team for a period of 12 months. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial transactions, including payment processing, account reconciliations, and billing discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payment transactions, including wires, EFTs, and cheques, in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and performing fiscal month roll-over
  • Analyze and investigate billing discrepancies and misapplied cash transactions
  • Communicate discrepancies and missing payment approvals for adjustment and correction
  • Process disbursements to travel vendors and customers
  • Perform daily and monthly account reconciliations
  • Participate in UAT testing for application systems and perform verification
  • Analyze and manage system defects and work closely with the development team to track, prioritize, and fix/close defects

Requirements

  • Minimum one year experience in the Canadian Travel Industry in a sales, product, or administrative role
  • TICO certification (or ability to become certified within six months) is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivables and testing disciplines and methodologies
  • Knowledge of finance and billing application systems and reporting tools within the travel industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking mindset
