Job Overview:

Highway King is seeking a skilled Class 1 Driver to join our team. As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for operating straight or articulated tractors weighing over 4600 kg, with three or more axles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate tractor units in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring it is properly secured and transported safely.
  • Perform regular vehicle inspections to ensure the tractor unit is in good working condition.
  • Perform minor roadside repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Record trip information accurately, including hours of service, fuel consumption, and any issues encountered during transport.
  • Participate in the transportation of hazardous materials, with training provided as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with other drivers and support staff to achieve team goals.
  • Meet the physical demands of the role, including long hours of driving and manual labor.

Requirements:

  • Commercial Driver's License with Air Endorsement.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Copy of Abstract including Commercial Experience.
  • Preference given to candidates with mountain driving experience, but not required.
  • Consideration given to new drivers when teamed with an experienced driver.
