As part of the Accounts Payable Team, the Accounts Payable Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring timely payments to our vendors. This position demands a highly motivated individual with a focus on resolving issues and identifying root causes. The successful candidate must possess exceptional analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to handle high volumes of moderate to complex transactions. You'll collaborate with various departments within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with Stores, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Vendors to resolve any issues hindering timely payments.
- Efficiently process a high volume of Purchase Order (PO) and Non-PO Invoices (3-way match) in a fast-paced environment.
- Verify the authorization of vendor invoices and accurately enter and code expenses into the appropriate General Ledger accounts.
- Experience handling employee expense reports within the Concur expense reporting system.
- Proficiently raise and review daily payment proposals in SAP, managing Foreign Currency payments through various methods such as EFT, ACH, Wire transfers, and Letters of Credit.
- Prepare Accounts Payable reconciliations and Corporate credit card reconciliations at month-end.
- Work with diverse internal Holt Renfrew partners to conduct root cause analysis and develop permanent solutions.
- Investigate and clear Unposted items and Goods Receipt Not Invoiced discrepancies.
- Partner with both internal and external clients, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Respond promptly to vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoices and expense reports.
- Identify and document process improvements, creating or updating Standard Operating Procedures as required.
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- 2-3 years of full cycle Accounts Payable experience.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Concur is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Highly service-oriented with excellent responsiveness.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ensuring compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cybersecurity measures.
