About the Opportunity

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto is seeking a distinguished academic leader to serve as the Director of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of researchers and clinicians dedicated to advancing quality mental health care for older adults.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Division, aligning with the Department's goals and objectives
  • Recruit and retain talented faculty members, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment
  • Secure external funding to support research initiatives and academic programs
  • Establish partnerships with affiliated hospitals and healthcare organizations to advance mental health care for older adults

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a recognized academic leader with a strong track record of research, clinical training, and education. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the University and healthcare sector.

What We Offer

The University of Toronto offers a competitive compensation package, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a 1/2 day per week commitment for a 3-year term, renewable once for up to 5 years. The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry.
