The Electrical Systems Specialist - Offshore Operations is responsible for the operation and maintenance of electrical systems onboard the installation. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical System Operation and Maintenance: Daily operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems to secure their operation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure electrical installations and equipment are in accordance with regulations and valid safety standards.
- Maintenance and Repair: Carry out and report maintenance in accordance with the maintenance program and report any modifications to the supervisor.
- Work Area Management: Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and parts.
- Spare Parts Management: Order required spare parts for planned and non-planned maintenance and repair through the immediate superior.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure all work on electrical installations is performed in accordance with valid safety regulations, technical regulations, and relevant procedures, maintaining an active approach to electrical safety.
- Non-Compliance Reporting: Observe and report any non-compliance to the superior immediately.
- Education: Completion of an appropriate course in Industrial Electrical Technology at a recognized training institution, and apprenticeship experience and/or additional training to the equivalent of a Canadian inter-provincial journeyperson's certificate.
- Experience: Previous offshore experience in an electrical role on a 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi Submersible or on a similar installation.
- Skills: High level of integrity, good verbal and written communication skills in English, and the ability to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
- Certifications: Hazardous Area Equipment Training or equivalent.
