The Content Strategy & Experience team within Customer Technical Success (CTS) is dedicated to delivering exceptional product knowledge to clients as they explore, adopt, and utilize Autodesk's platform through engaging content experiences. To enhance our mission of providing a premier experience and supporting users across various sectors, we are seeking a proactive Principal Technical Content Developer who will manage a comprehensive catalog of product support materials tailored for Autodesk's diverse industries.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Content Strategy & Experience, this role involves overseeing the content development process for clients and partners, crafting integrated, audience-focused content strategies, executing initiatives to enhance content quality, and collaborating with various teams to elevate support content experiences that foster customer success. You will play a vital role in shaping our evolving product support strategy, ensuring our clients maximize the value of our offerings.
This is a hybrid position, allowing flexibility while working closely with teams.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess needs through analytics, customer insights, and business goals, and develop audience-centric content strategies throughout the post-purchase journey. Assist in formulating strategies, frameworks, and templates that define our approach to technical content development. Design and implement programs that align customer needs with suitable content formats and distribution channels, ensuring meaningful interactions with our products and services, while enabling CTS to manage the entire content lifecycle effectively. Create, revise, and oversee the development of new content and enhancements to boost the accessibility and discoverability of support materials through digital platforms. Evaluate existing content to identify gaps and areas for further enhancement. Ensure timely availability of relevant content for all users by anticipating customer needs, minimizing redundancy, and promoting content reuse. Manage the integration of new product content and oversee product rebranding efforts. Set objectives for technical content development projects, monitor progress, and provide actionable insights for improving content effectiveness. Train and guide CTS personnel on best practices for content creation and enhancements, focusing on efficiency and quality. Represent CTS at industry events, both internally and externally. Build trust and authority within a network of peers and collaborators through clear communication, alignment on ideas, and delivery of significant outcomes. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content strategy and Autodesk-supported sectors, integrating relevant insights into the team to promote a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing.Minimum Qualifications
Over 8 years of relevant experience, particularly in content management or development. At least 5 years of experience in designing and executing audience-centric content strategies with a strong grasp of content strategy principles, including audience analysis and content lifecycle management. Familiarity with Autodesk-supported industries. Proven project management skills, successfully managing cross-functional projects from conception to completion while balancing strategic vision with detailed execution. Analytical mindset with a focus on achieving the best outcomes for customers. Experience with content management systems (CMS), authoring tools, and related software applications. Understanding of customer success strategies and concepts. Experience with search engine optimization (SEO) strategies is a plus. Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) is advantageous. Independent, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and improvement. Experience leading complex global projects with diverse teams, balancing strategic direction. Ability to simplify complex projects and situations through prioritization and motivated implementation to achieve results. A degree in Content Management or a related field.Ideal Candidate

Salary transparency
Salary is a key component of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we anticipate a starting base salary between $111,600 and $180,510. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
