Position: Traffic Controller

Overview: The Traffic Controller role is a developmental position that encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at supporting the operations team in managing traffic flow at gravel pits and quarries. This position requires a proactive individual who can work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing traffic in the field, including the creation and updating of traffic plans.
  • Maintain a field presence to collect tickets and manage reports.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and demonstrate safe driving practices.
  • Set up, maintain, and dismantle temporary traffic control devices such as signs and cones.
  • Direct and control vehicular traffic through work zones effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with drivers to provide instructions.
  • Work safely in active construction or maintenance environments.
  • Stay alert to changing traffic patterns and potential hazards.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills to address unexpected situations.

Work Environment:

  • Field environment with trailer office settings.
  • Travel to various job sites.
  • Physical demands of the role.

Position Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
  • Ability to learn SAP and other computer skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to work outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Must hold a valid G driver's license.

Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Degree in Civil, Geological, or Material Engineering, or a related field.
