About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at HelloFresh. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading our Food Safety and Quality Assurance efforts to ensure the highest level of quality and safety in our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of Food Safety and Quality Assurance professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Develop and implement effective Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs to prevent contamination and ensure product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Procurement, and Production, to ensure smooth operation of production, fulfillment, and delivery.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain HACCP plans and ensure compliance with GFSI audit standards (BRC).
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, themes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform root cause analyses to determine corrective actions and preventive measures to be taken.
  • Prepare the team for third-party audits and regulatory inspections and act as point of contact for CFIA and local regulatory inspectors.
  • Lead and support local, national, and global strategic Food Safety and Quality Assurance initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Biological or Food Sciences or related field of study.
  • At least 4 years' experience in a high-risk food manufacturing environment with proven experience in managing a high-performing team.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and local government regulations with strong familiarity of the SFCA/R.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety systems and HACCP principles and experience implementing and maintaining HACCP plans in RTE/high-risk production environments.
  • Background in food microbiology is a major asset.
  • Data-driven approach towards problem-solving.
  • Internal and external audit experience (CFIA, BRC, SQF).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, committed with a can-do flexible attitude.
  • Embrace change, challenge, and work in an autonomous way.
  • Strong passion for food is a must
