Job Title: Children Ministry Pastor/Director

Job Summary:

Regent College is seeking a highly motivated and spiritually gifted Children Ministry Pastor/Director to lead our children's ministry team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for children's ministry, excellent leadership skills, and a deep commitment to the Christian faith.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Vision: Provide spiritual leadership and vision for the children's ministry, working closely with the Senior Pastor and other ministry leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive ministry strategy.
  2. Program Development and Implementation: Oversee the planning, administration, and coordination of all children's programs, events, and activities, including but not limited to AWANA, Nursery and Toddler, Children Bible School, and Junior Worship.
  3. Staff Supervision and Development: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of lay leaders to assist in all areas of the children's ministry.
  4. Community Outreach and Engagement: Assist in promoting the church to the community and developing children's outreach activities, in conjunction with the congregational Local Evangelism Deacons.
  5. Preaching and Teaching: Preach in children's worship services and other worship services as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
  6. Pastoral Care: Provide pastoral care for children, their families, and all children's ministry workers through visitation and counseling.
  7. Missions and Evangelism: Participate in domestic and overseas missions as agreed by the Senior Pastor and approved by the Board of Elders.
  8. Administration and Reporting: Submit the Annual Report and monthly meeting reports to the Children Ministry Board of Deacons and Board of Elders.

Requirements:

  1. A vibrant personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
  2. A call to children's ministry from God.
  3. High integrity and spiritual discernment.
  4. Good command of English verbal and written.
  5. Preferably capable of communicating in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
  6. Appreciate the cultural diversity of our congregations.
  7. Fulfilled the academic requirements set by the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada.
  8. Preferably obtained a degree from an accredited evangelical seminary.
  9. At least three years' relevant experience in children's work in a church setting, preferably in North America.
  10. Capable of prioritizing and managing assignments.
  11. Self-motivated and has a desire for further training and personal growth.
  12. Committed to the ministry philosophy and programs of Regent College.
  13. Exemplary in conduct.
