Job Title: Apprentice Plumber

Xcel Construction Limited is seeking a skilled Apprentice Plumber to join our team. As an Apprentice Plumber, you will assist experienced plumbers in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plumbing system layouts.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for plumbing projects.
  • Instruct and guide apprentices in plumbing tasks.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
  • Join pipes using various materials and equipment.
  • Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment for plumbing projects.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Supervise other workers and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Estimate costs and materials for plumbing projects.
  • Operate computer-aided design (CADD) software and other computer systems.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in plumbing or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in confined spaces.
Work Environment:

You will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in physically demanding conditions.
