Job Summary:

A highly skilled and compassionate Nurse - Emergency Care Specialist is sought to provide exceptional nursing care services to users or groups under their care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the health condition of users and determine and implement nursing care and treatment plans.
  • Provide nursing and medical care and treatment aimed at maintaining and restoring health, as well as preventing disease.
  • Plan, provide, and evaluate teaching activities intended for users, their relatives, and groups of people.
  • Participate in research activities aimed at promoting health and preventing disease.

Requirements:

  • College degree in Nursing.
  • Two (2) years of experience in critical care or at the emergency department.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an undergraduate degree consisting of three (3) admissible certificates, of which two (2) are accredited certificates in Nursing.
  • One (1) year of experience in critical care or at the emergency department.

Additional Requirements:

  • Member in good standing of the O.I.I.Q.
  • Must succeed CTAS training.
  • Must have CPR up-to-date.
  • This position includes on-call periods.
  • This position includes triage functions.
  • A skill-based test may be required.

Language:

  • Fluent in English.
  • Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
