Job Summary:
A skilled Nurse - Emergency Care Specialist is sought by the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) to provide high-quality nursing care services to users or groups under their care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care and emergency nursing, with excellent assessment and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the health condition of users and determine and implement nursing care and treatment plans.
- Provide nursing and medical care and treatment aimed at maintaining and restoring health, as well as preventing disease.
- Plan, provide, and evaluate teaching activities intended for users, their relatives, and groups of people.
- Participate in research activities aimed at promoting health and preventing disease.
Requirements:
- Member in good standing of the O.I.I.Q.
- College degree in Nursing.
- Two (2) years of experience in critical care or at the emergency department.
- Fluent in English.
- Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
Additional Requirements:
- Must succeed CTAS training.
- Must have CPR up-to-date.
- This position includes on-call periods.
- This position includes triage functions.
- A skill-based test may be required.
