Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager of Customs Compliance, this position is integral to our esteemed Customs Compliance team, which expertly navigates the complexities of product importation into the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations to mitigate costs and risks for the organization.
  • Support the maintenance of our company's Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Code Database.
  • Collaborate with our dedicated Customs Broker to address daily operational needs, ensuring seamless Customs clearance processes.
  • Utilize your technical, auditing, and interpersonal skills to assist the enterprise in risk management related to Customs Compliance.
  • Act as a primary resource for US customs compliance.
  • Facilitate daily US import and export compliance operations.
  • Conduct research on product documentation to accurately determine HTS Codes while considering business risks.
  • Ensure compliance with Participating Government Agent (PGA) data element requirements for accurate declarations (including FDA, USDA, APHIS, Permits, etc.).
  • Analyze and interpret compliance requirements in relation to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
  • Support departmental audits that align with government, corporate, and Internal Audit standards.
  • Manage projects or initiatives as needed.
  • Possess strong technical expertise in Canadian Customs Compliance, along with a solid understanding of Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office (365).
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is advantageous.
