Project Automation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Magna International Inc. in Aurora. As a key member of our automation team, you will be responsible for overseeing engineering projects from concept to execution, developing innovative automation solutions, and ensuring compliance with health and safety programs and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement automation solutions and modules from concept to completion.
- Design and conduct research programs, applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials.
- Create product statements of requirements documentation based on customer, management, and regulatory inputs.
- Perform automation feasibility reviews, including robotic simulations.
- Program and test robot path-planning, including optimization studies.
- Assist in business case development and analysis for technical solutions.
- Design and execute R&D projects.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment.
- Master of Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of Python or C++.
- Competent working knowledge of industrial robot safety standards and the PHSR process.
- Knowledge of ANSI, SAE, QS-9000, and other industry/customer-related standards.
- Knowledge of GD&T, Design for Manufacturing, Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA), Dimensional Stack Analysis.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Process & Assembly methods.
- Knowledge of techniques and processes used to produce prototype components.
- Awareness of concurrent and simultaneous engineering techniques.
