About the Role

We are seeking a talented Fixed Income Portfolio Analyst to join our Global Multi-Asset Strategies (GMAS) team in Toronto. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a team that invests across a broad global mix of equities, bonds, credit, and commodities in both the cash and derivative markets.

The GMAS team employs a holistic approach to its alpha-generating strategies, applying both quantitative and fundamental techniques. As a Fixed Income Portfolio Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the portfolio management of fixed income assets, including nominal and inflation-linked bonds, as well as absolute return strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the portfolio management of fixed income assets, encompassing both traditional and alternative strategies.
  • Contribute to investment research efforts, including analyzing market trends, identifying investment opportunities, and developing investment recommendations.
  • Assist in building a suite of tools for analytics and portfolio management, leveraging advanced software packages (e.g., Python, C#).
  • Collaborate with senior team members to generate investment ideas and contribute to the development of investment strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to portfolio performance and investment activities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in fixed income investing, with a strong understanding of bond markets and valuation techniques.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with advanced investment software packages (e.g., Python, C#).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
