Job Title: Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream in the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto.

About the Position

This is a full-time teaching stream position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in statistics, biostatistics, and data science, as well as developing and implementing innovative curriculum materials.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in statistics, biostatistics, and data science
  • Develop and implement innovative curriculum materials
  • Collaborate with other instructors and teaching assistants on teaching and curriculum development
  • Supervise undergraduate research projects
  • Participate in departmental and faculty-wide initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related area, with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. They will also have experience in teaching statistics, biostatistics, or data science at the undergraduate level, as well as a commitment to pedagogical inquiry and scholarly activities.
