Position Purpose

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Planning and Implementation, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and promoting events that engage alumni, raise awareness in the community, foster ties between strategic partners and the academic community, and support recruitment, fundraising, and research activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Planning: Develop and execute event strategies that align with the faculty's goals and objectives, including conferences, seminars, and other events that promote alumni engagement and community outreach.
  • Event Management: Oversee the logistics of events, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual equipment, and registration.
  • Team Supervision: Lead and manage a team of event coordinators, volunteers, and contractors to ensure successful event execution.
  • Budget Management: Manage event budgets, ensuring that expenses are within approved limits and that financial reports are accurate and timely.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote events and increase stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Education: College diploma in marketing, event management, fundraising, or communications, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum five years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of planning and executing successful events.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work well under pressure, self-reliance, and good judgment.
