Position Overview:
The role involves executing professional driving responsibilities to ensure timely delivery of products to McDonald's locations while providing exceptional customer service and assisting with product offloading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a valid license and operate a tractor/trailer safely and efficiently.
- Accountable for the equipment and products entrusted to you.
- Conduct thorough inspections of your vehicle to confirm it is in optimal working condition, fueled, and ready for departure.
- Ensure that all vehicles are secured and refrigeration units are functional upon completion of loading.
- Connect, stage, and secure all vehicles daily according to the routing schedule.
- Complete necessary documentation and perform daily equipment inspections.
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with the company's Health and Safety regulations, reporting any incidents promptly.
- Maintain a high level of security for all equipment and the staging area.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) as well as Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transportation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Three to five years of driving experience as a licensed Professional Class A/AZ or Class 1 Driver.
- Experience hauling with 48' – 53' tractor trailers.
- Ability to lift and transport heavy boxes (up to 55 lbs).
- Strong work ethic and excellent time management abilities.
- Collaborative team player with strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated with strong leadership qualities.
- Must successfully pass a post-offer background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This position requires weekend work and flexibility in shift start and end times based on operational needs. Scheduled shifts may vary, necessitating adaptability in your availability. Work is required from Sunday to Saturday, with shifts at any time, including weekends. Safety footwear is mandatory, and uniforms will be provided.
