About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Mason to join our team at Five Star Paving (Cambridge) inc. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formwork and Concrete Placement: Ensure that formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials are properly checked and prepared for concrete placement.
  • Concrete Finishing: Direct the placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade specifications, and fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
  • Compaction and Leveling: Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
  • Work at Heights: Work safely at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures.
  • Surface Preparation: Impart desired finishes to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, and apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures, and waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: No degree, certificate, or diploma required; 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in concrete masonry.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to handle heavy loads, bend, crouch, and kneel, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Language: English or French language proficiency.
  • Work Conditions: 35 hours per week, permanent position.
