Job Overview

The Culinary Development Chef is a key member of our team, responsible for driving the accelerated development of significant culinary initiatives that generate operational culinary support tools, driving demand, and contributing to Business Unit growth and operational excellence.

This role will work closely with the Canadian Culinary Innovation Center team and collaborate extensively with operations, marketing, procurement, and our preferred supplier partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop recipes that reflect consumer insights, current trends, flavor profiles, and competitive strategies, while maintaining accurate portion control and yielding consistent results with the culinary innovation process.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Global Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure quality specified products are used in development and are also in broad distribution, inclusive of commodity ingredients to ensure seamless field execution and exceptional consumer satisfaction.
  • Create specific training tools as identified per project, including build diagrams, operational flow diagrams, and key ingredient lists, and conduct operational training sessions for concepts as required.
  • Leverage strategic, third-party relationships with manufacturers, consultants, trade councils, commissions, and boards to enable thought leadership and innovative development.
Requirements
  • Culinary Arts degree
  • Red Seal Certification
  • Minimum 5 years progressive culinary experience, post degree completion
  • Experience with new concept, menu, and recipe development
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, recipe database
