This role will be part of a multi-disciplinary group that delivers exceptional, client-centered, recovery-oriented, and culturally sensitive care to individuals seeking support for addiction and mental health issues. The Addiction Counselor will provide a variety of services, including thorough assessments of addiction and mental health, care planning, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, and group facilitation for adults facing concurrent mental health and addiction challenges.

Description:
As a Senior Addiction Counselor, you will deliver high-quality, client-focused, recovery-oriented, and culturally appropriate assessment, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, education, and referral services for clients and their families. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Providing a range of interventions that prioritize the least intrusive and most suitable services for clients and their families.
- Monitoring and evaluating client progress towards recovery goals and adjusting treatment as necessary.
- Building strong relationships with clients, families, community partners, and colleagues.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Addictions or a related field with coursework in addictions is essential. Candidates with a combination of a related degree and a diploma in addictions, or an equivalent mix of education and experience, may also be considered. Active registration under the Health Professions Act (Alberta) is required for eligible individuals.
Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of three years of clinical experience working with individuals facing mental health and addiction issues is necessary. Experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups and group counseling is required. Proficiency in computer systems is essential, as the role involves utilizing electronic medical records. Physical requirements include the ability to navigate a large facility and respond to behavioral or clinical emergencies as they arise.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a live-in treatment environment is advantageous. Additional formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), group psychotherapy, family therapy, or other recognized evidence-based therapies is desirable.
