The Deputy General Manager will operate under the guidance of the General Manager and collaborate with the front of house management team, actively engaging in all facets of restaurant operations, including staffing, scheduling, cost management, staff training, and administrative tasks. The Deputy Manager will oversee team members and actively participate during daily service, consistently ensuring quality service for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Articulate and embody the Gahan vision to all team members, leading by example.
  • Ensure team members deliver a memorable guest experience through coaching and fostering a positive workplace culture by reinforcing MHG values daily.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and management team to achieve all operational goals related to restaurant management and the MHG vision, including marketing, human resources, financials, and cost management.
  • Promote a culture centered around memorable guest experiences, craft beer, and high-quality food.
  • Train and develop team members in various front of house roles.
  • Manage guest and team member relations through effective conflict resolution and problem-solving.
  • Strive for maximum efficiency and continuous improvement in staff productivity.
  • Perform all front of house duties as required, including hosting, bartending, serving, and expediting.
  • Build and maintain authentic relationships with guests and team members.

Candidate Profile

  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment, managing various priorities.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Passionate about creating memorable guest experiences.
  • A goal-oriented individual eager for personal and professional growth within the hospitality sector.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in business or hospitality is advantageous.
  • At least 1 year of experience in front of house restaurant management is considered a strong asset.
